Welcome to Northeast Middle School, home of the Nighthawks!

We have a proud sports tradition at NEMS. We are currently the soccer champions of Minneapolis Public Schools!

Athletics Offerings

• Fall: co-ed soccer 
• Winter: boys and girls basketball 
• Spring:
  • girls flag football
  • co-ed track & field

Registration

• Registration for soccer takes place immediately when school begins and practice starts soon after the first day of school.
• Winter and spring sports registrations will open about a month before the season begins and will be shared with families via email from the Athletic Director.

Sports Physicals

• Athletes must have a physical on file before they can begin practice or participate in games.
• Free sports physicals are available at the in-school clinic at Southwest High School. Otherwise, a physical form from your pediatrician will suffice.
• Sports physicals are typically good for three years.
